Obituary

Anna Myers, 95, of Carteret, died peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at home. She was born in Carteret and was a life-long resident. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Carteret.

Anna had a passion for knitting, crocheting and quilting. She was constantly donating new born hats and blankets to different charitable organizations.

She is predeceased by her parents, Anna and George Slomko; husband, Arthur Myers; son, Thomas Myers; brother, Frank Slomko and her sister, Irene Vernillo.

Anna is survived by her loving daughter, Susan L. Dewitz and her husband, George; five grandsons, Jason (Rosa) and Geoffrey (Colleen) Dewitz, Christopher (Michelle), Stephen ( Mary Kate) and Corey Myers; great grandchildren, Geoffrey Jr., Leo, Luke, Robert, and Olivia; many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, followed by a 10 AM Mass at Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Family Church in Carteret. Entombment will take place at St. James Mausoleum in Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 4 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association in her memory would be appreciated.
