Bernard Joseph Gautier, 78, of Port Reading, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026 at home. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Port Reading.

Bernard was happiest surrounded by the people and things he loved, playing pool with his team The Drifters, rooting for the New York Mets and spending time outdoors enjoying the sun. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his love and adoration for his wife after all these years never waivered.

He is predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia Gautier and his two sisters, Barbara and Carol.

Bernard is survived by his three loving sons, Bernie and his wife, Cyndi, Scott and his wife, Lori and Ryan and his fiancee, Emily; grandchildren, Taylor, Kylie, Leah, Jordyn, Tyler and Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be on Thursday, July 2, 2026 starting at 10 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory would be appreciated.
