Catherine Golino, 89, of Carteret, died on Monday, January 22, 2024. She was born in Marcianise, Caserta, Italy and upon arriving in the United States became a resident of Carteret where she lived the remainder of her life. She was the co-owner with her husband, Angelo, of Carlos Pizzeria in Carteret for many years. Catherine was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Carteret. She was an amazing cook, home maker and an avid gardener. Catherine was affectionately known as Nonna to many and opened her doors to all. She made it a point to fill the table with amazing food and lots of love. She was the textbook definition of a Nonna, grandmother and Matriarch. She had the amazing ability to make you feel welcome and loved from the moment you were blessed enough to meet her. She will be missed by many.

She is predeceased by her parents, Angela and Pasquale Stellato; and the love of her life, her husband, Angelo Golino. Catherine is survived by her loving sons, Joseph (Sandy), Angelo Jr. (Patti) and Pasquale (Barbara); grandchildren, Angelo, Joseph Jr., Kati, Louie, Cryssi, Angelo III, Anthony and Brianna; her great grandchildren, Joey, Chris, Danny, AdmaLee and Lillianna; her sisters, Maria and Pauline (Del) and her brother, Frank (Enza); and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will start at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Joseph Church in Carteret. Entombment will be at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
