Constance M Cap, 96, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Connie was born in Port Reading and was a resident of Carteret for over 73 years. Connie was predeceased by her husband Francis S Cap who died in 2003, her parents Celestino and Maria D’Apolito and her brothers Matteo, John, Leonard and Angelo, and her sister Josephine Daidone.

Survived by her two sons Francis and wife Paula and David and wife Jeanmarie along with her four grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Francis, Caitlyn, Spencer and Christopher.

Connie was the corporate secretary and part owner of F. S. Cap & Sons Plumbing & Heating. She was the Registrar of Vital Statistics for the Borough of Carteret and a Notary Public. She belonged to Divine Mercy Parish & The Altar Rosary Society. Connie received The American National Red Cross Recognition Award for Meritorious Personal Service performed on behalf of the Nation, her Armed Forces, and Suffering Humanity in the Second World War… signed by President Harry S. Truman.

Connie loved dancing and in her youth was noted for her ability to perform the famous Russian Polka and the Chinese Dance. We remember Connie for her sweet disposition and big smile. Connie lived life to the fullest and was selfless in everything she did. Family was her life and we will miss her dearly. Forever in our hearts.

Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, June 27th at Divine Mercy Parish in Carteret. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Divine Mercy Parish.
