David Edmund Marek, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. He was a life -long resident of Carteret, who was proud to be from New Jeresey.
He appreciated meeting new people and hearing their stories. His kindness and thoughtfulness endeared everyone he met. He was a wonderful person who could light up a room with laughter and charm.
He was known for his kindness, sharp wit, deep devotion to his family and love of animals.
David deeply loved his family and friends, always sensitive to their struggles and rejoiced in their celebrations. His warm smile and generosity touched the lives of many.
Some of his fondest memories are from his studies in Princeton, where he gained a strong appreciation for the arts and developed a talent for painting and sketching.
Avid Sports fan loved the Mets & Jets and never missed a tennis tournament.
He was a history buff; a fountain of information; a collector of cars and loved boats.
David enjoyed gardening, music, and quiet times at the beach. The outdoors was a place that calmed his soul and where he could find peace.
He treasured travel and planning for future adventures . Always including Bodhi, Charlie, George, and Mrs. Katz .
He is predeceased by his parents, Roland J. Marek and Dorothy Lukach Marek. David is survived by his older siblings, Patricia, Gary, and Gayle Marek.
David was a beacon of light in our lives. He left his mark on all of us. His memory will lovingly linger and leave us with a smile. He is safely in God’s hands now, Rest in peace, baby brother.
Funeral will be on Monday, April 13, 2026 starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Joseph Church in Carteret. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM.
