Douglas V. Packard, 67, more affectionately known as Dougie, was born on June 7, 1958 and passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025. He was a life long resident of Carteret, NJ.

He graduated from Carteret High School, worked for the Carteret Board of Education as a custodian and was a life member of the Volunteer Company #1 Carteret Fire Department attaining the rank of Chief in 1996.

Anyone who knew Dougie knew he had a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold.  He loved his family and friends fiercely.  He could always be counted on for a great joke or story as well as a shoulder to cry on; and who could forget the man who brought us Dougie-doo?

Dougie is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Julia and Albert and his older brother Richard.  He leaves behind his wife Kathy, his brother Drew, his brother Keith & his wife Barbara, daughter Tiffany Doda & her husband, Jack, grandchildren Zaidalyn, Elijah & his wife Kimberly, Brooklyn, Marius, Romeo & Emerilyn as well as his nieces and nephews Denise, Geri, Nicole, Kristin, Steven, Anthony, Danny, Candace, Madison & Brianna.

Funeral will be on Thursday, November 20, 2025 starting at 10:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret followed by Interment at Hazelwood Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
