Ida Elizabeth (Colacurcio) Abrunzo, 96, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28,2025 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Marlboro. She was born in Santo Stefano del Sole Italy, came to America at eight months old, and lived in Jersey City for most of her life before moving to Carteret in 1965.   Ida married her love, Dominick Abrunzo Jr. on November 13,1949 and had five children, Carol, Carmella, Donna, Dominick and Stephen. She worked for RCA before marriage, then in retail (Rainbow Shop and SP Industries) while living in Carteret. Ida found happiness in the simple pleasures-hosting family gatherings, crocheting, attending to her garden and crafting. She will be deeply missed by her family, neighbors, friends and staff at Sunrise in Marlboro.

She is predeceased by her husband, Dominick Abrunzo Jr.; her sons, Dominick Abrunzo III and Stephen Abrunzo;and her grandson, Phillip Priolo. Ida is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Pulaskie (husband, John), Carmella Priolo, and Donna Abrunzo (husband, Dennis Hansen); her seven grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be on Saturday, November 1,2025 starting at 10 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Joseph Church in Carteret. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday, October 31,2025 from 5 PM to 7 PM.
