Kathleen Patricia Szymanski 58, of Carteret, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at home. She was born in Jersey City and spent most of her life in Carteret. Kathy was a loyal bartender and friend for many years to the Carteret Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Pvt. Nicholas Minue Post #2314. She was a very hard working and dedicated woman throughout her life.

Kathy could turn the most serious situation into a non-stop laughing matter. She was a tough but loving mother, wife-best friend and Mom Mom. She loved her trips all around the world with her best friend Bob. Sometimes she loved her dogs more than people, but she loved her close friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Kathy is predeceased by her sister, Eileen Marchitto. She is survived by her partner, Bob Szymanski; two daughters, Jessica Horning and Lindsey Horning; three grandchildren, Milania Kayleen, Lux and Makai; two sisters, Maryellen and Beth; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, from 4 PM to 7 PM. Private Cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carteret V.F.W Post #2314 in her memory would be appreciated.
