Maria Josefa Martinez, 68, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was born in A Pobra Do Caraminal, Spain and lived in Carteret for 48 years. Maria worked at Walgreens for 20 years in both Carteret and Clark, as a sales associate. Maria dedicated her life to caring for her family and loved to travel to Spain in her later years.

She is predeceased by her parents, Maria Garcia and Jesus Pineiro, and two brothers, Jesus and Manuel Pineiro. Maria is survived by her loving husband, Carlos D. Martinez; her children, Melissa Martinez and her husband, Randy Smith and Michael Martinez; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, NJ. Private Cremation will be held.
