Micheline "Mickey" C. (Abatemarco) Verello 88, formerly of Carteret, of Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in South Lake, Florida. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Carteret for most of her life, where she raised her family before moving to Florida in her later years.  Mickey retired from American Cellular in Florida as a sales associate.

She was a feisty and full of life woman who loved her family above all, friends and her dog Cocoa. Mickey was a devoted and loving mother. She was an extremely giving woman, who gave of herself unconditionally to family and friends, her door was always open to those in need.

Mickey is predeceased by her husband, Frank Verello, her five sisters and her grandson, Kepris Meletiou. She is survived by her three loving sons, Thomas and his wife,Kathy, John and his wife, Bonny and Frank Verello; grandchildren, Krista Hammer and her husband, Scott, Garrett and Luciano Verello; great grandchildren, Dylan and Blake Hammer; her sister, JoAnn Lovas, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Funeral will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, NJ followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Joseph Church in Carteret. Interment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
