Richard Karwecki, 83, formerly of Carteret, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born in Carteret, and resided there for 50 years before moving to Waretown, NJ. After graduating from Perth Amboy Vo-Tech, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served from 1959 to 1962. Richard retired from the Borough of Carteret Police Department, as a Patrol Officer after many years of service. Richard's passion was his love of classic automobiles, as well as attending classic car shows.

He is predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Joseph Kawesky ; and his wife, Elaine Karwecki. Richard is survived by his loving children, Sheri, Rich (Gina Warren) and Robert (Lorena) Karwecki; their mother, Margaret Karwecki; his grandchildren, Brendan, Ryan, John, Alyssa, Jennifer, and Ashley.

Funeral will be on Thursday, September 26,2024 starting at10 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, NJ, followed by Interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
