Rita Renda, 87, of Carteret, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was born in Barcellona-Pozzo di Gotta, Sicilia and immigrated to the United States in 1966, where she lived in Elizabeth for five years before moving to Carteret. Rita was a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Church in Carteret. She was a member of the Carteret Seniors and enjoyed attending their events. Rita was a wonderful home maker and a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore Renda; three sisters and two brothers. Rita is survived by her three loving sons, Nick Renda and his wife, Dianne, Guy Renda and Sal Renda; beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Danielle and Brandon; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be on Friday, December 19, 2025 starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, followed by a 10 AM Mass at Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Family Church in Carteret. Entombment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery Mausoleum in Linden. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
