Robert Charles Chomicki Sr., 65, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and love, on Tuesday, June 2nd at 1:35 a.m., after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mount Holly and raised in Carteret, Robert worked as an auto mechanic and an electronics technician at Avionic Instruments in Avenel.

Robert’s true passion was his family, his wife, and fixing just about anything. There was truly nothing he couldn't do—except beat the illness he fought so hard against. A sweet, genuinely friendly person, Robert was loved by everyone. He could talk to anyone about anything, always offering good advice, a comforting word, or a classic dad joke. He wanted everyone to be happy, because that is what made him happy, and he constantly showed his love by fixing things for the people he cared about.

He was predeceased by his father, John S. Chomicki, as well as his brother, John Chomicki Jr., and his sister, Diane Sjoblom, both of whom passed within the last three years. Robert is survived by his mother, Patricia Chomicki; his wife, Donna Chomicki; his sister, Natascha Chomicki-Jacobsen; his children, Robert, Daniel, David, William, and Rebecca Chomicki; and 15 cherished grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret, NJ. Private Cremation will be held.
