Rose Marie Lozak, 97, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. She was born in Carteret and was a life- long resident. Rose was a graduate of Holy Family School, Class of 1941 and Carteret High School, Class of 1945. She worked at Raritan Arsenal, Halloran Hospital in Staten Island and retired from US Metals & Refining Co. in Carteret in 1985.
Rose was a devoted, life-long member of Holy Family Church (Divine Mercy Parish), and the Saint Cecelia Choir, where she was the Cantor and Soloist. She was featured on the St. Cecelia Choir record album featuring Polish Christmas Carols. She was also a member of the Holy Family Church Altar Rosary Society, Festival Choir of St. Francis Cathedral, Diocese of Metuchen and Melodia Choir of South River, NJ.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 37 years, Edward M. Lozak Sr. (Director & Organist of Holy Family Church, Teacher, Musician); parents, George and Wladyslawa Bialowarczuk; brothers, Matthew, Adam, Stanley and John Bialowarczuk; sister, Florence (Bialowarczuk) Wojciehoski; niece, Barbara (Bialowarczuk) Van Uden, and cousins, Alexander and Edward Kukoski and Eleanor (Kukoski) Rivers.
Rose is survived by her loving son, Edward M. Lozak and his wife, Dr. Teresa M. Zyczynski; beloved twin grandchildren, Christopher Lozak and Caroline (Lozak) Nettles and her husband, Brian; sister, Stella (Bialowarczuk) Kubala; nieces, Nancy (Bialowarczuk) Adams and her husband, Randy, Ann, Laurie and Cathy Bialowarczuk; nephews, Adam Robert Bialowarczuk, wife, Deborah and family and Ronald Bialowarczuk and family; cousins, Jayne (Rivers) Veneziano and her husband, Phillip and family; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral will be on Saturday, January 17, 2026 starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, followed by a 10 AM Mass at Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Family Church in Carteret. Interment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM.
