Virginia Gural, 90, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Carteret and was a life-long resident. She graduated from Carteret High School. Virginia was an athlete, who enjoyed playing baseball, specifically 3rd base.

She married her high school sweetheart, John and together they started their business, Superior Burner Service in 1956. She then went on to start her family. Virginia was an extremely active member of St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church and School in Carteret. She took on numerous roles, such as running the weekly bingo games. One of her greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, John Gural. Virginia is survived by her loving children, Janice Forrestal and her husband, Michael, Virginia Toth and her husband, William and Ronald Gural and his wife, Dawn; her grandchildren, Robert (Carina), Hayden, Lauren (Joseph) and Roy (Sandra); three great grandchildren and her extended family.

Funeral will be on Thursday, February 6, 2025 starting at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 AM at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in Carteret. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in her memory would be appreciated.
